BIOGRAPHY:
The origins of the Father Christmas merge with the history of Nicolas Saint and seem to go up at the end of the Middle Ages. But it is truly only into 1822 that the legend takes form when professor Clément Clarke Moore lays down on paper a poem in 58 worms telling how a merry imp grassouillet distributes gifts while passing by the chimneys of the houses before setting out again in a sledge drawn by reindeers.

The years following the poem is published in various newspapers and periodical thus making grow the legend. If the idea of the Father Christmas is present it misses a representation of it, it is about 1860 that the large catch appears which one knows today. About 1880, its residence is established with the North Pole and a little later, a famous aerated beverage mark the dress of red to give him its current appearance. The Father Christmas succeeded in becoming the principal character of the religious festival celebrating the birth of the child Jesus and without him the festivals of end of the year would not have the same charm.
