BIOGRAPHY :
The REM is born from the meeting of Michael Stipe (vocals), Peter Buck (guitar), Mike Mills (bass) and Bill Berry (drums) in 1979 to Athens in Georgia (United States). The group's name stands for Rapid Eye Movement (reflex eye movement during the deepest sleep). REM is fast becoming known on the underground scene and recorded his first album in 1983. The first test will be followed by five other opus with long series of concerts. Despite its growing notoriety due to its commitments on political and environmental, REM barely break into the general public.

In 1991, for recording his new album ( "Out Of Time"), the group adds new sounds to the previous electric sound. This new musical brings key success finally earned the group. The next album is still carved in the same vein and allows the group to definitively establish its reputation. Thereafter REM returned to a more rock and numerous tours around the world. In 1998, Bill Berry left the band. It is replaced by studio drummer for recording new albums and concerts of the group. Each new album of the group is successful and is ranked first in many countries. The latest "Accelerate," released in 2008, is no exception to the rule.
