BIOGRAPHY :
The band Nightwish was born to meet Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards), Emppu Vuorinen (guitar) and Tarja Turunen (vocals) in 1996 to Kitee (Finland). The trio starts first in the composition of intimate acoustic tracks, but soon the powerful voice of singer changes the project. In early 1997, drummer Jukka Nevalainen joined the band and Emppu Vuorinen swapped his acoustic guitar against an electric guitar. In May of that year, Nightwish released their first album. "Angels Fall First" receives a warm welcome from the Finnish public and allows the group to sign a long term contract with his record company. In 1998, bassist Sami Vänskä completes training and Nightwish launches an assault on the world with his second album "Oceanborn".

In 2001 Marco Hietala replaces Sami Vänskä on bass and takes the place of vocal chorus. Symphonic metal music group meets a huge success in 2002 with the album "Centyru Child", then in 2004 with "Once". This is the latest album of singer Tarja Turunen. Focusing too much on his solo career, the group thought it not invested enough in the project Nightwish decided to separate from it. Tarja was replaced in 2007 by Anette Olzon. Nightwish released their sixth studio album ( "Dark Passion Play") at the end of 2007. The public immediately adheres to the new key made by Annette and the album climbed the top of the Finnish sales charts upon its release. Gold record in many countries (Germany, Poland, Austria, Sweden, etc..) Music group still meets the same success.
