BIOGRAPHY
:
Jim Morrison, whose real name James Douglas Morrison was born
December 8, 1943 in Melbourne in the state of Florida (USA). His
father's naval forces the family to frequent moves according to
his assignments. These moves affect Jim who becomes a difficult
child, see turbulent asocial. This rebellious character is offset
by excellent academic results. Jim is interested in philosophy,
literature and poetry and demonstrates wit outsized. He wrote
a thesis on collective neuroses and treatment options by group
therapy. In 1964, he enrolled at the School of Cinema University
of California. There he gained his first experiences with drugs,
is also at this time that alcohol becomes a companion more and
more present in his life. He graduated in 1965, but decided to
reach the public by any means other than cinema. |
| He
climbs the psychedelic rock band The Doors, for which he wrote
many texts. The Doors quickly made a name beyond Los Angeles and
the band signed a contract with a record company in 1966. The
band's debut album brought by the title "Light My Fire"
is a success and the group is the phenomenon of the moment. Jim
Morrison took advantage of that reputation to get more messages
advocating free love, drug use and alcohol use anarchy. It is
becoming more virulent over the group's concerts and December
5, 1967 he was arrested on the scene by police. This arrest will
shatter the illusions of Jim Morrison he wants to take back the
music to devote himself more fully to writing. These commitments
with The Doors oblige but to ensure the recording of new albums.
Even if the heart is no longer really Jim Morrison is an author
none. He proves with the last album he recorded with The Doors
"LA Woman", released in 1971, which became an essential
album of rock music. Depending on the drug does alcohol, Jim Morrison
wants to go green shortly after recording this album. It is in
France in early July 1971. That die from it in unclear circumstances
(heart attack, drug overdose?) July 3. He is buried in Pere Lachaise
cemetery in Paris. His death not stop his work to continue to
live in 1978 the album "An American Prayer: Jim Morrison"
includes texts that Jim had recorded in 1970 and two collections
of unpublished poems were published in 1988 and 1990. It thus
remains present in the art world beyond the influence of the group
who did know and can thus claim to fame infinite.
