BIOGRAPHY :
Lhasa, his full name Lhasa de Sela was born in 1972 in Big Indian in New York (United States). His father, originally from Mexico, is a writer and his mother American, is a photographer. She spent her childhood to travel with his family, the roads of the United States and Mexico on board a bus converted into a dwelling. This education allows him to open up the world. At only thirteen years, she performed in public concerts in the cafes of San Francisco. The music quickly became his main passion and she moved to Montreal where she is preparing her first album. "La Llorona" was released in 1998.

The mix of genres, Mexican music, gypsy rock and alternative, will meet a good reception from the public and the album sold more than four hundred thousand copies. As a result of this success, Lhasa moved to France to prepare for his new opus. Multilingual (English, Spanish, french) the album "The Living Road" will meet again on success. Lhasa is not a very prolific artist and we must wait until 2009 to find her new jewel simply entitled "Lhasa". Entirely in English this time, the singer offers douze titres where she raises her voice deep and to transport us into his universe always so captivating. This album, recorded when she was already suffering from breast cancer is its artistic legacy as she dies first janvier 2010 suite of his illness.
