BIOGRAPHY :
Al Jarreau was born on 12 March 1940 in Milwaukee in Wisconsin (United States), a pastor father and a pianist mother. He sings at the offices of his father at the age of four, but did not destine to music. He studied psychology. After a brief attempt in 1965 to break into the music, Al Jarreau returns to his studies he will conclude by obtaining his degree. In the early seventies, he moved to Los Angeles and a passion for singing catch. It occurs in some cafés-concerts and was noticed by an agent who offered him to manage his career. The soul-jazz style of Al Jarreau R'n'B attracted a record that allows it to record an album of covers in 1975.

Surrounded by musicians of exceptions, the production of the album is impeccable and Al Jarreau captivated the audience with tracks like "We Got By" and "You Do not See Me". His career is launched. It will release an album a year and will be at the height of its success in 1981 with the album "Breakin 'Away" which will run throughout the summer in nightclubs. Thereafter Al Jarreau will not find the same success in trying to stick too many modes. It was not until 1994 and the excellent "Tenderness" to find the spirit voice of the singer. Since then, Al Jarreau lot about one album every two years. The latest is in line with what many singers were in the sixties, a Christmas album entitled "Christmas." A sixty-eight years, Al Jarreau has lost none of its superb and remains an undisputed musical reference.
