BIOGRAPHY :
Manu Chao, his full name Jose-Manuel Thomas Arthur Chao, was born on 21 June 1961 in Paris of a Spanish Basque mother and a Galician father came to France to study classical music. Kids, Manu Chao learns piano with his father and entered the conservatory. Passionate about rock music of the fifties, he became a member of the Joint Cullera who mainly plays this style of music. After a spell in the alternative rock band Los Carayos in the mid-eighties, Manu Chao up in 1987 with his cousin Santiago Casariego brother Antoine and his group Mano Negra.
