BIOGRAPHY :
J. J. Cale, whose real name was John W. Cale was born on 5 December 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma (United States). Child, he learned the guitar as a teenager, he performed in bars and clubs. He formed his first group "Johnny Cale and the Valentines" and meets Leon Russell will take her with him to Los Angeles. JJ Cale is quickly noticed for his guitar playing and became a studio musician. This position allows him to record a few tracks including the famous "After Midnight" in 1965 which became a hit a few years later when it will be picked up by Eric Clapton. Finally recognized as a songwriter, JJ Cale can record his first solo album in 1972 "Naturally" .

It will quickly become one of the composers incontournables blues-rock and many artists or groups will draw renowned in his repertoire, including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Santana, Bryan Ferry, Kansas, Johnny Cash, Francis Cabrel, etc.. This recognition of the other musicians is not displease JJ Cale who can devote much of his time composing and need not be under fire from cameras to ensure his career. In 2009, JJ Cale released his sixteenth studio album "Roll On". Once again he took the ingredients that made its success, a minimalist music on a voice mumbled and almost a dozen new book nuggets.
