BIOGRAPHY :
Louis Armstrong was born on 4 August 1901 in New Orleans (United States). Abandoned by his father, he knows a difficult childhood and will be placed in many homes. It is in one of these homes that he will learn to play the cornet à piston. He attended the parades of brass-band to New Orleans and inspired by the old musicians to learn. Teenager, he started playing in his first brass-band and on the steamboats navigating the Mississippi. In 1922, he moved to Chicago is the center of the most influential jazz and playing second trumpet in the Creole Jazz Band. At that date the first recordings of Louis Armstrong.
